Spotlighting those with a passion for what they do, VA Roots provides a new perspective on what the state has to offer in a personal way. Reaching deep into the stories behind some of Virginia's most fascinating people, businesses, historical landmarks, parks and even natural wonders, the goal is to give a voice to those who make the state a truly remarkable place.

You can listen to the VA Roots web series on just about any internet enabled device. You'll find the audio version of the podcast on iTunes, or you can subscribe direct by using the rss feed. Be sure to also subscribe to the VA Roots YouTube Channel to catch video clips and even some full-length interviews. The programs will be embedded right here on varoots.net as well. Just click on EPISODES at the top of the page. The aim is to make the program as accessible as possible so that you can easily enjoy each journey.

The Root of the Matter
I'm a firm believer that everyone is extraordinary in their own way. Each of us has a unique story. No matter where we turn, we can find incredible people at equally incredible places. I started with the hope of bringing attention to what Virginia has to offer; but, VA Roots quickly became something more. I started to realize that what drew me to this project was the passion that I saw. These people devote their entire lives to what they do, and I hope to create a forum for folks to showcase their pride and enthusiasm in each episode.
By now, it's clear I'm a people enthusiast, addicted to good conversation. But, I'm also a technology geek and a music maker. I am a sucker for learning new things and helplessly enamored by a good story. I think that laughter has the power to heal, and I'm working on remembering to savor moments that make me smile.
VA Roots is comprised of each of these elements that make me who I am. No wonder this is my passion.
